Spend your days nestled into the wooded property, relaxing on the deck swing, or soaking in the hot tub on the lower rear deck, or cuddle up in front of the fireplace. Then, take a walk down the paths to the creek that winds through the property. Wander the grounds and look for the hidden decor (caution: steps or ground items may be slippery). When dinner time arrives, prepare a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen, cook out on the gas grill, or head down the road to your choice of several well-reviewed restaurants only minutes away.
In the mood for more activities or entertainment? Drive just 6 miles to Pigeon Forge and select from almost 100 restaurants offering nearly every type of food you could want. Take in a dinner show like the Hatfield-McCoys, Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud, Dolly’s Stampede, or many others. Then, catch a performance at the Smoky Mountain Opry or at one of the dozens of venues throughout the area that offer live music. Then head to Gatlinburg and Blake Shelton's Ole Red for live musical performances or to Tom & Earl’s Back Alley Grill and catch a live performance by renowned local artist Denver Evans.
Outdoor activities enthusuast? Go horseback riding, zip-lining, or have a picnic in the National Park nearby. In Pigeon Forge, there are several mini-golf courses, go-kart tracks galore, mountain coasters, or the many attractions at The Island, such as The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. There are also museums like Titanic, National Enquirer, Civil War, WonderWorks, and more. For a whole day of fun, visit Dollywood; it is only a 10-15 minutes drive from Mountain Air. Let's not forget the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with its hiking trails, picnic areas, swimming holes, waterfalls, diverse wildlife, outstanding vistas, and beautiful scenery.
The road to the cabin is partially paved, with the rest of it being gravel. Our drive is also not paved. During winter months, it is best to have AWD, 4WD, or chains just to be safe. Low-riding vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles may find it difficult any time of year and we do not think they are suitable for the private roadway. We have parking for 2-3 vehicles depending on size.
ROAD CONDITIONS: Mountain roads can be tough at times. We can not and do not guarantee any road surface conditions. Most public roads are well maintained but can be winding, steep, and/or bumpy. It is not unusual to have some washed out areas or downed trees, especially after rain or high winds. Passenger/mini vans, motorcycles, and trailers may have difficulty at any time of year. Winter road conditions and maintenance are not guaranteed. You are responsible for your own transportation. We cannot provide any transportation for guests. Please remember you will be staying in the mountains. Weather conditions can be very unpredictable, and it is your responsibility to come fully prepared. We do not refund due to road conditions or the location of the property on the mountain.
View a video of the drive (after turning off main road) on our YouTube Channel by searching on Google for "#mountainair37862". We are not permitted to post direct links to it here in the listing. As noted by past guests in several reviews, the video can be very helpful.
⏤ Booking Mountain Air ⏤
An Accidental Damage Insurance policy is in place for every reservation. We do charge a cost-recovery fee of $13 to fund the policy which provides up to $1,500 in accidental damage insurance protection. As of 2020-03-18, the fee is only $13. This might be labeled “Resort Fee”, depending on the site used for booking.
We **STRONGLY** recommend obtaining Travel Insurance for your trip, especially if your stay is during winter months, or if you are concerned about possible cancellation due to the pandemic, government policies, or other reasons. We offer an opportunity to purchase a standard policy or a CFAR (cancel for any reason) policy as a convenience to our guests. You can also acquire coverage from many online sources, but make sure you are clear on what they cover.
Be sure to read and understand our cancellation policy. We will not be responsible for any cancellations outside of our policy - that is what Travel Insurance is for.
We require the booking guest to review and sign our Rental Agreement, a sample of which (without specifics of names and dates) is available. This agreement must be digitally signed and returned to us within 2 days of booking. A copy of the signer's government-issued ID must accompany the signed agreement.
⏤ Your Well-Being is Important to Us ⏤
We believe in providing a comfortable and safe environment for our guests. Our housekeeping partner has always had a strict cleaning regimen that is performed after every guest stay. In light of recent events, we have worked with them and updated it to include additional processes and procedures to increase protections for both our guests and our housekeeping team members.
Hot Tub: Drained, cleaned, and refilled after every guest; fresh Bromine added.
Linens: laundered and processed in temperatures that exceed those recommended for laundry operations; disinfectant added if appropriate; dried at temperatures needed for sanitization; and, packaged until put out for guests.
Cabin:
- Anti-microbial and disinfectants are used upon arrival, given time to work while staff perform other tasks, then used again as appropriate during the cleaning process.
- Micro-Ban™ is applied throughout the cabin on all hard surfaces (counters, floors, stair rails, cabinets, etc.) and on compatible soft surfaces (furniture, beds, pillows, carpets, comforters, etc.).
- Lysol™ is used on all compatible surfaces to clean and disinfect.
- Bleach-based cleaners are used in some areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, that are better served by, and can tolerate, chlorine products.
- The cabin is routinely inspected after cleaning by the company's inspection team. Besides quality assurance tasks, these specialists also perform additional applications of protective products in the home, such as MicroBan and Lysol, as needed.
On-Site Staff: Housekeeping staff and inspectors have been fully trained in the proper methods of cleaning and preparing our home for our guests. They are furnished with masks, protective gloves and are instructed to wear them at all times; changing them for fresh pairs as needed during preparation of the home.
Facilities Staff: have also been trained in the safety procedures necessary to protect themselves and products that are destined for guest use.
All Housekeeping and inspection staff have been instructed to immediately report anything that may lead them to believe that there is/was any kind of health issue in the cabin, with themselves, or with other staff.
IMPORTANT: Not all surfaces are safe for use with all sanitizers. DO NOT APPLY sanitization products without being 100% sure they will not harm surfaces. We have already had a dining table as well as door clocks and handles damaged by guests who applied their own sanitizers that ruined the finishes.

About the Owner
We decided to share our home with others so they could experience the same joy we have here in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains.
From our very first guest, we realized just how much we enjoyed being hosts and providing our guests with 5-star stays. This is especially true when we get the nice reviews and email messages from our guests telling us about what wonderful memories they made while staying in our home.
