"Great cabin, very quiet, very comfortable. Loved the hot tub." -- Inez (May 2021)
Mountain Air is a 2 bedroom & 2 bath cabin that offers a secluded getaway from the hustle, bustle and bright lights of the attractions areas and puts you into the mountains. You will not be disappointed! We are very private. No other cabins in sight! Check out our collection of great reviews and photos.
Spend your days nestled into the wooded property, relaxing on the deck swing, soaking in the hot tub on the lower rear deck, or cuddle up in front of the fireplace. Take a walk down the paths to the small creek that winds along the property. Wander the grounds and look for the hidden decor (caution: steps or ground items may be slippery).
When dinner time arrives, prepare a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen, cook out on the gas grill, or head down the road to your choice of several well-reviewed Wears Valley restaurants only minutes away.

⏤ Your Safety & Well-Being is Important to Us ⏤
We believe in providing a comfortable and safe environment for our guests. Our housekeeping partner has always had a strict cleaning regimen that is performed after every guest stay. That is designed to increase protections for both our guests and our team members.
♨️ Hot Tub: Drained, cleaned/sanitized, and refilled after every guest; fresh Bromine added.
🧺 Linens: laundered and processed in temperatures that exceed those recommended for laundry operations; disinfectant added if appropriate; dried at temperatures needed for sanitization; and, packaged until put out for guests.
🧑🏻On-Site Staff: Housekeeping staff and inspectors have been fully trained in the proper methods of cleaning and preparing our home for our guests.
⏤ Road Conditions ⏤
The road to the cabin is only partially paved, with most of it being gravel and dirt, with some places where the grade is steep. During the wet seasons, potholes and ruts can develop. It is a private road we have no control over.
During winter months, it is best to have AWD, 4WD, or chains, just to be safe. Low-riding vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles are not suitable for the private roadway. You should view a video of the drive (after turning off main road) on by searching the Internet for "#mountainair37862". Past guests have said the video was very helpful.
Our driveway is not paved and is mostly gravel and dirt, but is well-maintained. We have parking for 2-3 vehicles.
Please remember you will be staying in the mountains and mountain roads can be tough at times. We can not and do not guarantee any road surface conditions, especially during Winter. Most public roads are well maintained but can be winding, steep, and/or bumpy. It is not unusual to have some washed out areas or downed trees, especially after rain/snow or high winds. You are responsible for your own transportation. We cannot provide any transportation for guests. Weather conditions can be very unpredictable, and it is your responsibility to come fully prepared. We do not refund due to weather, road conditions, or the location of the property on the mountain.
⏤ Services ⏤
Cellular signals are generally weak at the cabin. We have added a signal booster indoors, near the kitchen, but results can vary. We offer DishTV, a house phone, and basic 6mbps Internet w/Wifi (speeds cannot be guaranteed and are not be suitable for streaming TV). Weather or other issues can affect their operation and performance.
⏤ Booking Mountain Air ⏤
The booking guest must review and sign our Rental Agreement, a sample of which is available. This agreement must be digitally signed and returned to us within 2 days of booking. A copy of the signer's government-issued ID must also be submitted.
A list of all guests in the party is required to include ages and the email addresses of each adult.
Each booking includes our own Accidental Damage coverage, so it is not necessary no to buy your own.
There will be a refundable security deposit of $300 to cover any non-accidental damages or costs. This is done as a "hold" on the credit card and is initiated a few days before your arrival. It is released after your departure and our team's inspection.
We **STRONGLY** recommend you consider obtaining Travel Insurance for your trip, especially if your stay is during winter months, or if you are concerned about possible cancellation due to the pandemic, government policies, or other reasons. You will be presented with an opportunity to purchase a standard policy or a CFAR (cancel for any reason) policy as a convenience to our guests offered by our service provider -- not by us. You can also acquire coverage from many online sources, but make sure you are clear on what they do and do not cover.
Be sure to read and understand our cancellation policy. We will not be responsible for any cancellations outside of our policy - that is what Travel Insurance is for.
Regardless of what the listing site may say, all cancellations are subject to a 3% charge to cover the credit card processing costs.
⏤ Special Note ⏤
We have found that guests are better prepared and enjoy their stay more when they have read all of our information. To verify you have read the full description, please include the phrase "BLACK BEARS" somewhere in your booking and/or inquiry.

We decided to share our cabin with others so they could experience the same joy we have here in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains.
From our very first guest, we realized just how much we enjoyed being hosts and providing our guests with 5-star stays. This is especially true when we get the nice reviews and email messages from our guests telling us about what wonderful memories they made while staying in our home.
